Description
Numerous pharmaceutical manufacturers are restricting or imposing conditions on 340B pricing for drugs dispensed at contract pharmacies. These restrictions and conditions on 340B pricing have massive implications for 340B covered entities and the patients they serve. This session will review the current landscape of the contract pharmacy controversy, including trends in manufacturers’ policies regarding contract pharmacy, and identify key concerns and challenges posed by such restrictions and conditions. Panelists will provide an overview of covered entities’ strategies to mitigate the impact and their experiences in navigating manufacturer conditions. These topics will be addressed further in roundtable discussions Tuesday afternoon.
Learning objectives:
- Review the current landscape regarding restrictions on 340B pricing under contract pharmacy arrangements and limited exceptions
- Describe strategies for covered entities to reduce the negative impact of manufacturers’ restrictions on contract pharmacy
- Discuss experiences of covered entities in navigating manufacturers’ restrictions, conditions and/or exceptions
